These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Trace Android application (“Trace”, “the app”) published by Trace Screens (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Trace, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Trace is an on-device tool that reads text inside photos and screenshots you choose to index, so you can search them locally on your phone. Trace is not a cloud backup service, financial advisor, legal service, or medical service.
OCR and search results may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are responsible for verifying important information (receipts, tickets, codes, etc.) before relying on it.
Trace does not require a Trace account. Optional in-app feedback, if you choose to send it, goes through your email app to our support address.
Some features require a paid subscription (“Trace Pro”) purchased through Google Play.
During beta testing, we may grant complimentary Pro access to testers. Beta builds may change or stop working without notice. Features and pricing may change before public release.
You agree not to misuse Trace, reverse engineer it except where law allows, or use it to violate others’ rights or applicable law. You must comply with Google Play’s policies.
Trace, its branding, and software are owned by Trace Screens or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Trace is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect OCR accuracy, or that the app will meet every use case.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trace Screens is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of Trace. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Trace Pro in the twelve months before the claim (or zero if you used the free tier).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.
We may update Trace and these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using Trace by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or discontinue the app where required by law or platform policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Trace Screens’ place of establishment in the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence still apply where they give you rights that cannot be waived.
